What exactly is threading?
Threading, an ancient Indian hair removal technique, is a regular staple of the beauty menu around the world, used to reshape eyebrows, remove the hair in the upper lip and face, gently giving the face an arch or pertness.
Threading typically involves tugging out a row of hairs from the follicle by twisting the hairs into a cotton thread. Always captivating to observe, the therapist holds one end of the thread in her mouth and the other end in one of her hands, in a dainty yet steady way. She uses her free hand to grab the middle of the thread to form a loop that traps the disagreeable row of hairs, and pulls the hairs from the skin, leaving a smooth finish.
